Q: What is the biggest anti-aging skin concern that women who come into your office request to correct?

One of the first appreciable and most commonly asked about signs of ageing are fine lines, particularly around the eyes and mouth. There are many factors that contribute to them. Genetics, sun damage and time all play a strong role. This is why it is essential to battle them with a multifaceted skin care program that attacks them from several angles.

Q: What do you see being the biggest trend in skincare in 2010?

I have always found that the hottest trends in cosmetic dermatology eventually find their way into the skincare market. Much of the recent research in my field has focused on revolumizing the appearance of skin to attack signs of aging. Present and future technologies focus on addressing revolumization at home via getting the skin itself to reproduce what has been lost over the years. With products such as Filextra, inspired by this trend, I believe we are entering a new generation of topical skin rejuvenation.
